The Palette Pulse: February Art Vibes
Hello Everyone,
There is an artist I follow on social media who does live painting events from his studio in London, and this week, he said something that resonated with me. He said, “Don’t get lost in the rabbit tracks when hunting big game.” How does it relate to me? I tend to get distracted by smaller, less significant “tracks” in my life. They lead me astray from my intended “prey.” So, I’ve been trying to pay close attention to the larger, distinct “tracks” of my target. I will focus on the right trail and not get sidetracked by irrelevant signs. That artist's name is Andrew Salgado, and here’s his website: https://andrewsalgado.com/. He’s brilliant!
I'd like to request that you share my webpage with your family and friends. The more views I get, the more people may find me online and in person at my art events. Thank you!

Another Exceptional Women’s Art Show:
Expect the Unexpected
Six of my art friends and I pitched a show to a local gallery, and they accepted. So, in August, we will show our art in a group exhibit at Old Walls Gallery in Albuquerque, NM.
You can read about it here: Details
I’ll remind you in a later newsletter. Mark your calendar - all are welcome to the show opening on Friday, August 1, from 5-8 PM.

Hardwood Art Center
Harwood Art Center of Albuquerque, New Mexico, hosts Artist Trading Cards annually celebrating connection and creativity, bridging artists across place and practice. Participating artists will receive 10 blank cards to create mini artworks in their unique vision. The artworks are mailed back to Harwood, who shuffles and distributes them to the participating artists. At the end of the program, participants end up with a mini collection of paintings from 10 unique artists! Artists of all experiences, ages, and identities are encouraged to participate in Artist Trading Cards.
Here is one of the 10 cards I created. So much fun!
Fourteenfifteen Art Gallery
“Beginning” is a series for a show at the Fourteenfifteen Art Gallery in Albuquerque. They’ve challenged artists to create a piece of art every day for January.
Fun-A-Day Exhibit Details:
Opening Reception: Friday, March 7, 6 pm - 9 pm
Closing Reception: Friday, April 4, 6 pm - 9 pm
The Fourteenfifteen Art Gallery is still closed due to fire damage, and they don’t know when their space will be restored. Homewise has offered us an alternative space on the second floor of their building at 4th and Barelas for now.
Art-o-mat®
I mailed my fifth Art-o-mat set to its destination. I have such a calm, systematic love for creating these little wood blocks. It’s very cathartic for me and it gives me a break from larger painting woes. This series is titled “Tiny Flowers.” Check out the link below to find a machine near you.

La Fonda Residency
I’m incredibly excited to have been offered a weekend residency at the La Fonda Hotel in Santa Fe in July. Look for more about this adventure in a subsequent newsletter.
The 8th House
I visited the 8th House in Albuquerque, where I’ll be the featured artist in September. It’s a fabulous antique store, and I can’t wait! Their Instagram page has a plethora of gems. Check it out: https://www.instagram.com/t8habq
Chicky’s Coffee in Bernalillo is still the place for coffee and friendly faces. Everywhere you look at Chicky’s, there is art, a feast for the eyes. Rick and I are there every Monday morning. We start our week with coffee and pastries and check in with Shari running the shop or Deanza behind the counter. Stop by or order online HERE.
Dulce River Bakery -4405 Jager Dr. NE, Rio Rancho, NM 87144) is a fantastic stop for coffee and a sweet baked item while enjoying my art and the art of my friends.
Thank you for attending my shows, subscribing to and reading my newsletter, and/or following me on Instagram or Facebook. I appreciate you!
Cheers,
