Palette Pulse: July Art Vibes
Happy July Everyone,
June was a whirlwind, and I started this newsletter in the Labor and Delivery waiting room, awaiting my grandbaby's birth. I thought I had plenty of time to write and send it off. But newborns have a way of showing up and not only making life so much grander but also pushing all other life to do things off until... well... July 9.
The news: Grandbaby Irey was born on July 2, and she is all we can think and talk about. I know that feeling will never end.
On the art front, Rituals for Now closed on July 5, and I was so happy to experience art in SW Albuquerque. The vibe is energetic, eclectic, and way younger than me, which gave me some serious energy as I walked in to see the show.
The group art show, Our America: A Tapestry of Cultural Diversity, closes on July 19, so you still have time to stop by and see the beautiful pieces up on the walls of the Placitas Community Library. Next up is another group show where I will be showing two pieces. The show is called Go Sports. I wanted to enter this show by creating some pieces that were not directly related to any sport. So I researched and came up with two of the most commonly used words in all sports, and what I came up with are Jump and Run. Hence, the following two pieces will be included in the show. It's been an exciting ride with Art-o-Mat so far. I will begin working on my 2nd set of Art-o-Mat pieces. You'll have to wait and see what I create this time. Hint: flying creature.
