The Palette Pulse: May Art Vibes
Hi Friends,
I hope the first few days of May have inspired you to walk outside, visit someone you haven't seen in a while, and create something beautiful.
May has already been adventurous for me in the art scene. I visited two highly talented artists in their homes on Saturday. It was a magical day to see where they create, listen to their creative journeys, and even learn another art technique while hanging out with new friends.
I've been creating a mural on a cement brick wall for the past few weeks. It's the most fun I've had in a long time - painting without any limits. I can paint when I want to, for as many hours on a chosen day as possible, with no deadline I need to adhere to—liberating at the very least. And I think I'm nearing the finish line.
I’ve also been working on a project that I’ll tell you all about in June. The sneak peek is in the picture I’ve attached above.
The rest of the month will be filled with Art Studio Tours, creating with my women's cousin group, applying for more open art calls, and spending time with my family.
I'm also working on a new series called "Seeds", finishing a commission of a black bear, a new commission I'll call "Cicada" for now, and finishing up the mural (final pics to come in June).
Happy May,
Leslie Pino Durant
