October…many reasons to smile…
January, February, March…you get the picture…10 months into 2022 and I’ve found many reasons to smile and be happy. Here are a few:
Cool mornings and evenings means the swamp cooler stays off most of the time and the doors and windows open. Sweatshirts are pulled from the top shelves of the closet and are layered above T-shirt’s that get uncovered and covered throughout the day.
Art studio build begins soon. While moving out of the garage may seem like an obvious enough reason to want out it also gives Rick a garage space to workshop his ideas. In my art studio there will be shelves holding all of the different sized mason jars of buttons, beads, and ribbon - all the small items I will “someday” use in my art. Also on the walls will be my Mama’s bathroom cabinet repainted by Rick in a color he thought reminded him of her. The floors will be cement at first and then covered with some sort of bright carpet. My desk will be against a wall. My easel will catch the incoming light. My art table will be against another wall. I have many ideas that will take shape in my head waaaay before they’ll appear in the room. It’s all very exiting.
Soccer, baseball, football, but, mainly - soccer. Connor is playing his senior season of soccer at Colorado Mesa University. Watching him do what he loves and love what he does is a fulfilling feeling. It warms my heart, energizes me, and makes me happy that he is happy. Soccer will also bring family together in Grand Junction and I get to see my Durant family again with a short sprinkle of Kyle and Tricia.
Spending time with my sister, her family, and my Tata. Mooooove over time sucking life and slow down for me to enjoy my family 20 and 50 minutes away.
Substituting….maybe…I’m trying to convince myself that I won’t do it - though the extra money means more art supplies.
There are many more reasons: Balloon Fiesta, Esme’s visit, pumpkin spiced…(just kidding…I‘m not a pumpkin spiced anything girl), Fall leaves changing color, visiting Grand Lake, and just being retired.
I hope your October brings you joy!
