The Palette Pulse: February Art Vibes
Happy Saturday to You,
Yesterday, Punxsutawney Phil declared an early spring by not seeing his shadow. He's only correct 39% of the time, so we'll be wintering for at least six more weeks. That begs the question: why are we relying on him to predict the weather?
New Mexico's winter is mild: rain instead of snow and driving in the wind instead of on ice. I like it, but I miss the big Colorado dumps of snow.
On the art front, for me, a lot has happened. I am now a member of the New Mexico State Committee of the National Museum for Women in the Arts. I have an artist registry page, too. You can check it out here - https://newmexicowomeninthearts.org/leslie-pino-durant
I applied for a position with their organization, and I'm happy to say that I am one of their new Social Media Specialists. I started the position on January 26th, and I am loving it. Another woman (who has since become my good friend) and I work together to update the New Mexico Committee's social media. It means investigating the art scene around New Mexico for woman-created art and featuring it on social media.
If you'd like to come along and follow the NM State Committee of Women in the Arts on IG - it's here - https://www.instagram.com/newmexicowomeninthearts
Thank you for your love and support. Busy days ahead.
Cheers,
Leslie
