End of September Happenings!

Hey Everyone!

I understand that an end-of-the-month newsletter is not typical to send, but at least I’m consistent, right? As the air turns crisp and the trees exchange their greens for golds and reds, especially along the Rio Grande, I find myself inspired by the beauty and transformation of fall. Balloon Fiesta season is also upon us—a perfect backdrop for creating and sharing art. I’m excited to let you know what I’ve been working on, where my art will be showing, and the creative happenings filling these autumn days. Here we go…

The Groove Artspace - Smallish
Three of my pieces have been accepted into The Groove Artspace’s new exhibit, “Smallish - Amazing Artwork on the Smaller Side,” which is a curated show celebrating impressive art in small formats. From miniature paintings to compact sculptures, this exhibition highlights the strength of small-scale creativity. All artwork will be 18" x 18" or smaller and priced at $400 or less.

Friday, October 3, 5-9 pm - Opening reception with food, vendors, and live music.  Bring everyone you know!

Saturday, October 25. 2-4 pm - Closing reception/meet the artists with cookies and coffee.

The Groove Artspace, 309 Gold Ave SW, Albuquerque

The 8th House - End of the Year Exhibit

Julian, at The 8th House, he describes his shop as “The 8th House what it is — a hidden gem full of art, heart, and community,” and I agree! For November and December, he’ll be hosting an art event for the artists who’ve displayed their work in 2025 at his shop.

Opening Night: Friday, Nov 14, 5–7 PM

Come celebrate with Julian, me, and my art friends!

Harwood Art Center - 12 x 12
For 17 years, the Harwood Art Center has invited artists from its creative community to contribute works for 12×12, their one fundraising exhibition and one of Albuquerque’s most anticipated art events each year. They give artists 12” x 12” wood panels to create artworks in their unique vision. 12×12 artworks are sold at a flat rate of $144, and each artist remains anonymous until their piece is sold. Sales start online at
Harwood Art Center on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 6:00 pm. Artwork remains available until January 14.

What does my purchase support?

Your purchase helps fund Harwood’s community arts education, outreach, and professional development programs—diverse, hands-on offerings designed by and for participants of all ages, backgrounds, and perspectives.

Patrician Design - I've had many people stop by Patrician Design to see my art. Thank you! The holiday season is coming soon, and there are many treasures perfect for gifts for yourself or others. Patrician Design, located at 216 Gold Ave SW, Albuquerque, NM, is a boutique gallery showcasing fine art, handcrafted jewelry, pottery, wearable art, and treasures by talented New Mexican artists.

Chicky’s Coffee - The best holiday gift, in my caffeinated opinion, is coffee—specifically, Chicky’s Coffee at 240 South Camino Del Pueblo, Suite A, Bernalillo, NM. Please visit Shari, Deanza, and Scott for some delicious coffee (Guatemala Blend is my favorite), pastries, and stunning art. Truly, art decorates every corner of Chicky’s, creating a visual feast for the eyes. Tell them Leslie and Rick sent you! Stop by or order online HERE.

Dulce River Bakery - My friend, Yolanda Howren Jones, and I will be installing art along the walls of Dulce River Bakery at 4405 Jager Dr, Rio Rancho, NM. Stop by for a pastry, some coffee, and enjoy viewing (and perhaps even purchasing) our art. Thank you!

As always, thank you for attending my exhibits, subscribing to and reading my newsletter, and following me on Instagram and/or Facebook. I truly appreciate your support!

Cheers,

Leslie
