December…almost
I sent my RedBubble website link out into the world yesterday via my Leslie Pino Durant Art Facebook page. I was pleasantly surprised at all of the views and sales. I sold 42 items in one day! Granted, it’s gift buying time and all are looking to purchase gifts of some sort or another. I was glad to have made a dent in their wallets. All joking aside, I only created the RedBubble site to offer some of my art to my family and friends, not to make money. The profit margins on all of the products are not great, but it is fun having people purchase my art work.
If you have a visual art talent and want to show people your work, please look into one of the print on demand sites available to you. You don’t have to have a webpage. They are free. You can just upload (high quality) pictures of your work, set some prices, send the link out into the world and BOOM - you’re out and about showing your work. Here are some examples of the sites: RedBubble, Cafe Press, Printful, TeeSpring, Society 6, Threadless, and Zazzle. They all have very similar ways to create, design and sell. The profit margins aren’t great (some better than others), but they work for me for the time being.
Lately what I’ve been doing is painting crosses. My husband, Rick, has some reclaimed wood out back. He crafts some pretty rugged crosses, delivers them to my art studio and I paint them. I’ll take pics of all of them when they’re finished and let you see.
That’s all for now. Thank you for reading. If you send me an email with your mailing address (no later than December 6), I will send you a small piece of art. Let’s just see how many people are reading this.
Best,
Leslie
