Artist-in-Residence

Hi Everyone,

I hope this email finds you well. I’m reaching out with something a little special today. Over the years, I’ve learned that I can always count on my subscribers for support—whether it’s showing up for my art, sharing kind words, or contributing to causes that matter to me.

Because of that, I decided to send a dedicated email asking for your help with a program that’s incredibly close to my heart. I’d love for you to take a moment to read about it below and consider supporting this meaningful Artist-in-Residence opportunity.

Thank you, as always, for being such an important part of my creative community.

With Gratitude,

Leslie

Supporting the Natural Curiosity Artist-in-Residence Program is deeply personal to me for so many reasons. First and foremost, I believe BIPOC artists deserve to be seen, celebrated, and given meaningful opportunities to create work that reflects their voices, cultures, and lived experiences. Programs like this help make that visibility possible.

As many of you know, my love for nature runs right alongside my love for art. Bringing artists into an immersive, ecological setting—where the landscape itself becomes part of the creative process—feels incredibly powerful and necessary. Art has the ability to deepen our connection to the natural world, and that intersection is something I care about deeply.

It’s also important to me simply because it’s an art program. Supporting artists, funding creative time and space, and investing in the arts community will always be close to my heart.

And on a personal note, my daughter-in-law, Tricia, serves on the Board of Directors for Natural Curiosity, which makes this initiative feel even more meaningful to our family. I’ve seen firsthand the passion and dedication that goes into making any program at Hermosa possible including this artist residency.

I hope you’ll consider contributing and helping uplift an artist whose work will grow from nature, community, and the opportunity to be fully supported.
