June - Summer is Here…on the 21st
As a retired teacher, stepping back when the days grow long is practically in my bones, and it turns out that habit has quietly carried over into my art life as well. I find myself in fewer shows this season, and honestly, I’m at peace with that. Summer has always been a time to breathe, wander, and let ideas simmer. But don’t wander too far — because come August, I’ll be showing at the Jemez Fine Art Gallery, and I can’t wait to share more details with you soon.
You can still see my art at the venues below.
“This Is Us” at Pleased to Present Gallery has been extended through June 20 — a little extra time to catch their wonderful inaugural Albuquerque exhibition! The piece shown here is part of this vibrant celebration of 148 New Mexican artists, and one of the things I love most about this show is that artists receive 100% of sales. Your support goes straight to the people who made the work. I’d love for you to stop in and be part of it. Pleased to Present Gallery is at 510 Central Avenue SW, Albuquerque.
Patrician Design — I’m so touched by the continued support and kind visits to my work — it means more than I can say. If you’re searching for something truly special this summer, make time for Patrician Design on 216 Gold Ave SW in Albuquerque. This beautiful boutique gallery is a treasure in every sense — fine art, handcrafted jewelry, pottery, wearable art, and one-of-a-kind pieces by talented New Mexican artists, all gathered in a space that feels as thoughtful and heartfelt as the work itself. It’s the kind of place you wander into and don’t want to leave. Patrician Designat 216 Gold Ave SW in Albuquerque.
Chicky’s Coffee (240 S Camino del Pueblo Ste A
Bernalillo, NM) - Now that summer is almost here, there’s no better excuse to treat yourself to a visit at this cozy, art-filled gem! The photo here features my latest piece now hanging on their walls, alongside beautiful work by Yolanda Howren Jones and Phil Volk. Stop in to see Shari, Deanza, and Scott for a delicious cup — the Guatemala Blend is a must, and we hear it’s wonderful iced — along with fresh pastries and the kind of warm, welcoming atmosphere where creativity is simply part of the air. Tell them Leslie and Rick sent you!
When you get a chance, visit my website (link at the top of this newsletter). I’ve added a lot of new pieces that may resonate with you. Also, please browse my art storefrontsfor prints, canvases, mugs, t-shirts, and more — some great deals are waiting for you! Redbubble and TeePublic
As always, thank you for being here and for the warmth you bring to this little corner of my creative world. Summer has a way of slowing things down just enough to remind us to look around — at the light, the color, the beauty that’s already there. Keep an eye out for more details about the Jemez Fine Art Gallery show in August — I’m so looking forward to sharing that with you. Until then, enjoy every long golden evening, and know how grateful I am for each and every one of you.
Cheers,
Leslie
